Helium

Since 2012, Gazprom Gazenergoset JSC has been the Gazprom PJSC operator that sells gaseous and liquid helium in Russia. The company has completed the OG-500 helium liquefaction unit project at a helium plant, Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg LLC. The unit was put into operation in 2014.

The plant is an integrated helium production and delivery system. In particular, it includes a helium liquefier, liquid helium storage facility, gaseous helium preparation facility, and a liquid nitrogen storage and delivery system. The annual capacity is 4.2 million liters.

Helium, He is an inert gas and one of the most common elements in the Universe. Helium is primarily extracted from natural gas. Helium has the lowest boiling point of any substance, -268.94 °C. It also possesses high thermal and electrical conductivity. Helium properties are perfectly suited for a wide range of applications: aerospace, electronics, medicine. Helium’s unparalleled features also make is suitable for metallurgy and nuclear energy sectors.
